Renovating Marc's place
I joined Russ Beutler, Robert Mba, Cam, Yéred, Jean-Michel and Marc Gillet as Marc began to renovate his country barn into a house. My favorite part was smacking the bathroom walls with the sledgehammer.
All the noise we were making brought out a neighbor boy who observed our work and then showed me how skilled he was with his small bike.

Watch out for mutant crops!
I've already given my opinion on the GM foods debate, but am interested to see that it has gone to a vote here in Switzerland. The adjacent affiche portrays a corporate monster/giant destroying a pleasant Sunday afternoon picnic demanding that the people buy things NOW! As part of its proud protestant tradition, Geneva still keeps all its shops closed on Sunday (except the small grocery store at the train station and a few other epiceries where the owners are willing to pay the huge fees).

Getting back to Geneva
I flew Air India from Newark to Paris. I got off at Chales de Gaulle Aéroport with a few others, and all the rest of my Indian friends continued on to Bombay. Unfortunately, so did one of my bags.
Yet that was really the only catch. Otherwise, it was the best transatlantic flight I've made. I had a seat near an exit door with ample legroom, the Indian dinner was excellent, if a bit spicy, and a good Harry Potter book to help the time pass. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

The International Labour Organization
Foolin' around in the President's chair at the ILO
My friend, Jaci, has been feverishly photocopying any letter or newsclipping from the ILO archives that might be relevant to her senior thesis. She flew back to Geneva for a week to research and we met up for tea on a beautiful autumn afternoon.
