An evening walk
The secret of life
After reviewing some readings and notes the morning and afternoon of a sunny Saturday, I set out to photograph some of my favorite scenes from my bus route in the evening light. One of my favorite spots along the route is this lone tree in a large field bordering the Bois Carre. The same solitary tree in a sea of grass and ocean of air.
From there, I continued along past Sierne to the bridge over the Arve. On the other bank is this field; it always takes my breath away in the evening light. My walk, in contrast to zooming by in a double-long Volvo bus, afforded me the opportunity to notice the new foilage bathed in the lateral rays of waning sunlight.
Further along the road, a little ways beyond Conches, I found a path that leads down to the Arve. I scrambled down the steep, wooded bank and hopped out onto a stone jutting out into the swift current to admire this scene:
Setting sun illuminates the Saleve, reflected on the Arve
Rapids on the Arve River
